first snow in the city

it snowed for the first time last week. i love when we get snow in the city. it makes me want to bundle up and snuggle in :)

we are supposed to get another storm tonight with snow expected tomorrow morning!

baking in heels

so the other day i had a very long day at work. the store was busy, people were rude and all i wanted to do was go home, put on my comfy sweats and relax.

when i got home i remembered that mom brought me back a bag of michigan apples and i still needed to use them. i always celebrate the start of fall by making my grandma's country apple pie. it's perfectly fall and soooo yummy. 

i was not really in the baking mood so i thought about ways to cheer myself up. and i thought, what's more cheery then cherry red pumps? they hurt my feet if i ever actually wear them out of the house but they are so pretty on! so, i decided that i would bake in heels.

i might actually bake more in heels. there was something about being oh so domestic and feeling oh so sexy while doing it. i may not be able to wear pretty heels in real like so i think i will continue to wear them in my kitchen. 

wonder what i will bake next and which heels will i wear???

2 ingredients = awesome

i've been seeing a lot of posts on pinterest about 2 ingredient pumpkin muffins and decided to try it out for my self. 

i used one box of spice cake mix and one can of pumpkin. you don't need to add anything else.....no eggs, oil or butter. 

but i also decided to spice it up with some cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and walnuts. 

i mixed them all together, used my large ice cream scoop and a muffin tin, baked them at 350 for 24 mins and came out with awesomeness. 

so yummy and perfect for fall!!!

even though the weather has not been very fall like i am determined to get into an autumn state of mind. hot chocolate mornings, scarves, all things pumpkin and planning our annual halloween party. hopefully the weather decides to get on the fall band wagon!!!

quick trip to the mitten

this past weekend i went back to michigan to visit family and check out artprize in grand rapids. here are a few pictures from my trip. fall is in full swing in the mitten state and i was sad to come back to 85 degree weather here in co, but fall/winter will be here soon enough.

here are a few things that i am currently in love with.......

over sized gold watches layered with fun bracelets. i just purchased this little baby, over sized runway watch, and haven't taken it off since. i found some great bracelets at target that work perfect to stack with the watch. i am head over heels.......

it's starting to get a little chilly and i can't wait to pull out my scarfs!!!

structured messenger bags, love em. i recently found my perfect bag here, aldo. and i get a million compliments. its the perfect size for everyday and it's vegan :)

curls...simple...sexy...love. i have been wearing my hair curly almost every day for the past few weeks. it's so simple and chic. i highly recommend it. i shower before bed, sleep with wet hair and then curl it in the morning. in my mind it's less damaging since i am skipping the blow dryer. plus it only takes about 7 minutes to do my hair in the morning. bonus!!

i'm back

wow, i can't believe i haven't made a post in over a month!!! august was a month full of changes. i began my new job which i am just now getting the hang of. i kind of went into hibernation while i tried to figure out my new routine. 

but with everything now under control and the promise of fall i am back. here are some images from the past month.

missing michigan

it has been one week since collin and i have been home from out trip to michigan. it has been a crazy week. i began my new job! trying to get back into the swing of things after not working for 6 weeks. i love everyone that i work with and i am excited for this new beginning, but each night i find myself pouring over the pictures from our trip and missing pentwater. here are a few of my favorite pictures from our trip.
